OhmSpace, an Italian aerospace startup developing advanced resistojet propulsion systems for all classes of satellites, from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellations to Geostationary platforms, has successfully closed a €2.5 million Seed round, led by Galaxia (€950,000), the Italian Technology Transfer Hub on Aerospace powered by CDP Venture Capital together with Obloo Ventures, and joined by b(€800,000) – the acceleration program of the CDP Venture Capital National Accelerator Network for aerospace and advanced hardware startups, managed by Plug and Play – and by Scientifica Venture Capital (€150,000), as already pre-seed investors.
The round was closed by the entry of Deep Ocean Capital SGR S.p.A. ( € 600.000), through its Deep Blue Ventures (DBV) and Deep Blue Ventures Space (DBVS) funds, as a strategic investor, which enabled the conversion of previous other investors SAFE instruments into equity. This brings the total seed round to €2.5 million and p rovides OhmSpace with a solid foundation to accelerate its growth and technological development.
This raise was underpinned by OhmSpace’s rapid growth and ambitious technological roadmap. Thanks to the support of the European Space Agency (ESA) with multiple contracts , the trust of its investors, and the dedication of its team, OhmSpace has been able to accelerate the development of its disruptive high temperature resistojet propulsion technology.
The company also secured support from Invitalia Smart & Start, enabling the launch of in-house manufacturing at its Rome facility. OhmSpace has planned two In-Orbit Demonstration (IOD) missions in 2026 to validate STAR -Water-nano, its MVP product for the nanosatellite market, making its product available to customers starting also in 2026 . These missions will allow to test its groundbreaking propulsion technology, which delivers high specific impulse and thrust using safe, low-cost, and readily available propellants, eliminating the need for hazardous chemicals without compromising speed to reach operational orbit. The technology also enables faster satellite manoeuvring, benefiting large LEO constellations by accelerating revenue generation and reducing the risk of space debris collisions by a factor of ten, positioning OhmSpace as a leader in safe, efficient, and sustainable satellite operations.
These funds will support the industriali sation of OhmSpace’s resistojet propulsion systems, accelerating preparation for the 2026 IOD missions and scaling production of the STAR product line for commercial use. With the rapid growth of small and large LEO constellations, OhmSpace is positioned to expand its market presence, strengthen technological leadership, and bring its innovative satellite mobility solutions to customers worldwide.
With the Seed investment round and the support of both existing and new strategic investors, OhmSpace is well-positioned to capitalize on the expanding satellite propulsion market, strengthen its technological leadership, and accelerate its global commercial entry in 2026.
“This investment round marks a fantastic new step in OhmSpace’s journey to consolidate the successes and progress achieved since our inception just a couple of years ago,” said Federico Romei, CEO of OhmSpace. “We are deeply grateful to our existing investors for renewing their trust in our vision and validating our execution, and we are thrilled to welcome a new strategic investor to the team. Their support will enable us to accelerate our path toward market entry, expand our industrial capabilities, and b ring our disruptive propulsion systems to customers worldwide. This milestone reflects the dedication of our exceptional team, the strength of our partnerships, and the tangible progress we’ve made toward commercial readiness.”
“OhmSpace is a strong example of how academic research can translate into market-ready deep-tech ventures. By combining scientific rigor with clear industrial applicability, the team is bringing safer and more sustainable propulsion to a rapidly growing segment of the space economy. Through Galaxia, w e’re committed to supporting founders exactly at this inflection point — where
breakthrough technologies become businesses that can scale globally. ” explained Claudia Pingue, Head of the Technology Transfer Fund, CDP Venture Capital.
“OhmSpace perfectly embodies the spirit of deep tech entrepreneurship that Scientifica seeks to accelerate, combining scientific excellence, bold vision and tangible execution. We are proud to support their mission to redefine spacecraft propulsion.” - Riccardo D’Alessandri, Managing Partner, Scientifica Venture Capital.
“OhmSpace represents the frontier of disruptive industrial solution that Deep Ocean Capital was created to empower. The company is tackling one of the most complex and strategic challenges in the new space economy - propulsion - with a unique blend of technological excellence and industrial scalability. Through our Deep Blue Ventures and Deep Blue Ventures Space funds, we are committed to supporting founders who transform advanced research into globally competitive technologies. OhmSpace’s innovation has the potential to redefine how satellites move, operate, and sustain themselves in orbit, a true leap forward for Europe’s space industry.” explained Emilia Garito, Chairman and co-Founder di Deep Ocean Capital SGR SpA.
