Technology Transfer
We capitalise on the results of the research through the creation of National Technology Transfer Hubs, specialising in areas of scientific and technological research with high potential with respect to the competitiveness and innovation of the Italian industrial system.
The aim is to bridge the gap between research and the market by supporting highly innovative projects and promoting integrated ecosystems with universities, corporations and business partners.
Consult Portfolio
We invest on two fronts:
Directly
By creating Technology Transfer Hubs that bring together universities, research centres and private investors to develop new deep-tech companies.
Indirectly
As a Fund of Funds, it invests in venture capital fund managers specialised in the same areas of scientific and technological research, to ensure the medium- and long-term sustainability of newly created companies.

Who is the Fund aimed at?
The Technology Transfer Fund aims to use the results of Italian scientific and technological research by supporting the birth and development of deep-tech start-ups. It mainly targets:
- researchers and universities, to turn inventions and patents into innovative enterprises;- pre-seed and seed start-ups operating in technology-intensive sectors with industrial potential;
- specialised venture capital funds, to expand the Italian deep-tech ecosystem through indirect investments.
Investment procedures
The Technology Transfer Fund operates through two main investment modes:
- Direct Investments (Direct Portfolio).
- Indirect Investments (Indirect Sub-Fund). The Fund also operates as a Fund of Funds (FoF), investing in specialised technology transfer vehicles managed by Venture Capital teams and funds with vertical expertise in the same science and technology fields.
How do the National Technology Transfer Hubs work?
The National Technology Transfer Hubs are initiatives promoted by CDP Venture Capital SGR in collaboration with universities, research centres and industrial partners, with the aim of transforming the results of scientific research into high-potential deep-tech start-ups. These Hubs operate as integrated platforms that support researchers throughout the entire process: from the technical and business validation of technologies to the creation and growth of new innovative companies.
Currently, the active Hubs are:
- RoboIT: dedicated to robotics;
- Tech4Planet: focused on environmental sustainability, covering areas such as energytech, circular economy, smart mobility and the management of water resources;
- Galaxia: focused on the aerospace sector;
- Extend: for the development of new therapeutic approaches in the biopharmaceutical sector; - Farming Future: dedicated to Agrifood Tech.
