Firenze/Bari, [22/01/2024] - FunniFin, the start-up co-founded by Leonardo Capotosto, Lapo Nidiaci, Maurizio Rinaldi and Michele Bramante, announced the closing of an 850,000 euro seed round, an important milestone that solidifies its position as an emerging leader in the financial well-being of workers in Italy.
Divided into 650,000 euro in equity and 200,000 euro in subsidised finance, the transaction involved prominent investors and key institutions. One of the key actors in the round was Personae, a programme of the CDP Venture Capital National Accelerator Network entirely dedicated to collective and individual welfare, which selected the Company in the second acceleration batch. Supporting the programme are prestigious names such as CDP Venture Capital SGR, SocialFare Seed, Avanzi Etica Sicaf EUVECA and Fondazione Italiana Accenture.
These were joined by Syscon SRL, a Rome-based company specialising in HR Tech and digital solutions, and Marco Costaguta, Chairman of the strategic consulting company OC&C Italy, who participated through the vehicle Timeless II S.R.L. A significant portion – amounting to 200,000 euro – was raised through the Tecnonidi subsidised finance call of Puglia Sviluppo.
FunniFin's goal is not only to grow, but to completely revolutionise the way workers access financial instruments and support. Founded in November 2021 and fully operational from January 2022, the start-up aims to become a digital financial desk based on generative artificial intelligence, capable of educating, assisting and supporting workers in an innovative and personalised way. In the coming months, thanks to the resources gathered, new features will be launched that will allow users to obtain economic support directly through the platform, harnessing the potential of AI to offer quick, effective solutions.
The results achieved to date confirm the validity of the FunniFin model. In 2024 the start-up entered into contracts worth a total of 240,000 euro, working with around 10 leading client companies such as the IREN Group, FATER and GETEC Italia, as well as several Italian SMEs. The platform's financial support and education services have already reached more than 20,000 employees, making a concrete contribution to improving their financial well-being. With the resources raised through the round, the company aims to triple the value of the contracts closed by the end of next year, working with at least 30 companies and expanding its impact to over 60,000 workers.
FunniFin operates nationwide, with a registered office in Florence and an operational office in Bari, consolidating its presence in both northern and southern Italy. Leonardo Capotosto, Co-Founder of FunniFin, noted that “This round represents a fundamental step for FunniFin. Thanks to the trust of our investors, we’re ready to revolutionise the way workers access financial instruments, contributing to people's well-being and the growth of companies. We want to be the point of reference for Italian workers when they need support on any decision of a financial nature, completely eliminating the stress associated with these issues and increasing the level of financial literacy of Italians”.
"We’re very satisfied with FunniFin's progress since its initial entry in the Personae Acceleration programme", commented Stefano Molino, Senior Partner and Accelerator Fund Manager of CDP Venture Capital. "Financial education has become a transgenerational skill and the training method used by FunniFin is very effective for learning economic and financial tools. We’re confident that the company will continue to grow, also thanks to the support of the partners of the Personae Accelerator".
