CDC Studio Srl closes an investment round of €380,000 with Styleit.

CDC Studio Srl – the start-up that transforms textile waste into valuable raw materials – closes a 380,000 euro investment round with Styleit, the Fashiontech Accelerator born from an initiative of CDP Venture Capital SGR together with Start-upbootcamp, GELLIFY and Foundazione Social Venture Giordano Dell'Amore.

San Miniato, 3 February 2025 - CDC Studio Srl, the innovation hub for circular textiles, enthusiastically announces the start of an important phase of growth and development thanks to the closing of a round that saw the participation of Styleit, the Fashiontech Accelerator born from an initiative of CDP Venture Capital SGR together with Startupbootcamp, GELLIFY and Fondazione Social Venture Giordano Dell'Amore, which saw great potential in the two patented technologies owned by the company, CŌĒO and MIKTÒS.

CDP Venture Capital SGR, the Styleit accelerator and Fondazione Social Venture GDA recognised the importance of female leadership in innovation and sustainability, deciding to invest in CDC Studio Srl. The Ventive consultancy and investment company has also placed its faith in this cutting-edge start-up born in the heart of Tuscany, and new interest from other investors may arrive in the coming months before the SAFE round closes on 31 March 2025.

CDC Studio Srl's technological solutions – CŌĒO and MIKTÒS – respond to the urgency of companies in the textile and leather sector to find economically viable, circular solutions for the recovery of mixed textile waste, transforming it into new ecological raw materials that are fully recyclable and usable in a variety of settings, such as fashion, design, construction and automotive.

Currently, only 1% of textiles are recycled, and the urgency of achieving circularity in this sector – dictated by the obvious consequences of waste on climate change on the one hand and by national and European directives on the other – makes it increasingly necessary to develop technologies that help companies get rid of the waste generated in a sustainable, cost-effective manner", explained Cristina Di Carlo, CEO and co-founder of CDC Studio Srl, and Matteo Corbellini, CTO and co-founder.

We are excited to embark on this path of regenerating textile waste together with companies and suppliers who like us believe in a circular future for the industry and care about protecting our environment. We are confident that by joining forces we will be able to generate a positive impact that goes beyond national borders”.

The new technologies related to the recovery of textile and leather materials have a great impact on the sustainability of many markets, from fashion to automotive to construction”, commented Stefano Molino, Senior Partner and Accelerator Fund Manager of CDP Venture Capital Sgr. “CDC's solution and this team's special attention to the details of the production process convinced us right from the selection stage for the StyleIT Accelerator, and now we are very proud to continue to accompany them in their growth together with the other programme partners”.

With our investment we intend to back CDC Studio's growth by supporting it in the research and development of new technological solutions that enable the development of recycling-oriented supply chains for waste materials in the textile sector. With Get it! we accompanied the team's growth and are confident that it will be able to achieve the ambitious goals of its project”, said Marco Gerevini, Managing Director of Fondazione Social Venture Giordano Dell'Amore.

The growth of CDC Studio Srl was strongly supported by acceleration experiences that had a fundamental impact on the company’s consolidation and expansion.

CDC Studio Srl had the critical, decisive opportunity to refine its business strategies and expand its network of contacts in the fashion and sustainability sector by participating in Styleit – CDP Venture Capital SGR's Fashiontech Accelerator together with Startupbootcamp and GELLIFY – which now renews its faith in the start-up with this post-acceleration follow-on, together with CDP Venture Capital SGR and Fondazione Social Venture Giordano Dell'Amore, which invested in CDC Studio after the Get it! empowerment programme.

This important step forward was accompanied by a team of experts who made the growth and implementation of CDC Studio Srl's solutions possible. CEO and co-founder Cristina Di Carlo, who has always been sensitive to the issue of sustainability and aware of the impact of textile waste on the environment, worked at the forefront in the research, conception and development of the CŌĒO and MIKTÒS patents, making the innovative nature of the two projects the strong point of CDC Studio.

CDC Studio Srl has big plans for the immediate future, looking to follow the consolidation of the two existing patents with the development of new technological solutions that can contribute to the circular economy of the textile industry.

At the start-up's new headquarters located in San Miniato, Pisa, a growing and increasingly structured and specialised team is working with enthusiasm and determination to consolidate its presence in the global textile recycling market with the aim of making a valuable contribution to the industry’s economic, social and environmental sustainability.
