WEART

WEART develops a technology designed for the digitalization of the sense of touch. Its wearable and portable products enable the augmentation of VR/AR experiences and multimedia contents with a tactile track that is added to the audio/video ones.
These products completely change the way a user interacts with digital contents. During the experience the user can perceive on his skin tactile properties of virtual objects and surfaces, in terms of forces, vibrations and thermal cues. 
This tactile augmentation results in an higher level of realism of the experience and in a deeper engagement of the user.
Typical application scenarios for these devices include medical and industrial training, customer experiences, marketing experiences and entertainment. 
WEART is ideated by SIRSLab (Siena Robotics and Systems Lab), a lab of the University of Siena specialized in robotics and haptics, in cooperation with e-Novia.
